Veloz means fast. Order at the window, cash in hand — the taco’s up before the next 7 rolls in.
The corner where Corona’s night eats
You order at the window
No host, no table service, no card reader. You walk up to the sidewalk window under the tracks, call your order over the counter, and pay cash. A few small tables inside if there’s room — otherwise it goes in a bag and out into the night.
Walk-up window · a handful of counter stools · take-out · cash only.
The name is a promise
Before the next 7 rolls in
Veloz is Spanish for fast — and it’s the whole idea. The tortilla’s already on the comal, the meat’s already going. Regulars clock the taco landing on the steel in under five minutes, about the time it takes the 7 to rattle overhead and pull out again.

“Friendly service and a lively atmosphere … the green sauce was a great complement to the tacos.” — Kathy W., Yelp, Dec 2025
Behind the taco window
A whole Puebla kitchen
This stretch of Roosevelt is Corona’s poblano corner, and the menu shows it. Past the tacos there’s cemitas, huitlacoche and squash-blossom quesadillas, huaraches, mole — a full kitchen working behind the window.

The corner at 1 AM
The 7 rattles overhead. People spill out of the live music at Terraza 7 down the block. Late-shift workers, night owls, a small line at the window. This is the corner that keeps going after the rest of Roosevelt has closed.
“Amazing taco under the 7 train … packed with meat. It doesn’t look fancy, but it’s tasty.”
— Peter K., Yelp“Hands down top five best tacos in Queens — the seasoning and everything is so good.”
— Melany L., YelpFeatured by Mashed (2025) as one of NYC’s best hole-in-the-wall taco spots.
